What About Then?

You rejoice in my arms, this is spring,
On the sea, the sun shimmers,
But will you be here in dry days,
In autumn, when leaves will wither?

What about then, when this world,
Stands against me to fight?
Will you trust as you do now?
Will you stand by me steady right?

In my young arms you feel secure,
Making promises of love forever,
But will you still love in old age?
Will you leave my arm when they shiver?

What about then when I die away?
A sudden morning you find me gone!
Will you kill yourself and betray me?
Or for me will you live on?
