I am afraid,
That my heart be
shattered to uneven pieces,
I am afraid,
That my forehead be
given more creases,
I am afraid,
I will have to fake
a smile each and all day,
I am afraid,
I may forget crying
then that way,
I am afraid,
That my words be
churned to ferment a case,
I am afraid,
That my promises be
thrust in my face,
I am afraid,
That my trust be
dissolved and drank in a gulp,
I am afraid,
For then no talk or
convincing helps,
I am afraid,
That love may turn
me inhuman again,
I am afraid,
That, this time it
be a deeper pain!
