The
king’s men held his limbs,
The
king pushed a spear in his chest,
The
princess smiled, he realized,
The
truth of love, before he left,
She
schemed his death for whom he lived,
She
loved not a slave, it was an act,
All
motives now clear, his love abused,
Truth
undressed and naked was fact,
Hurt
tears melted from his eyes,
Lame
words from his lips broke,
“Love
is the song that silence sings,
A fake
dream that thoughts provoke,
Love is
a funny elegy,
Love is
a sad, sad joke.”
